Axens Activated Alumina

High purity activated alumina is valued for its capabilities as both an adsorbent and catalyst support, with rapid market expansion driven by strict environmental regulations and industrial needs.

Drying of solvents used in chemical manufacturing, purifying air and gases (mercury removal), and water treatment are among the many applications for which activated carbon can be utilized. Unfortunately, its adsorption capacity for certain contaminants may restrict some more specific applications.

AxTrap® 612

H2S, COS, mercaptans and sulfides are common contaminants which must be removed from gas streams in order to meet fuel gas, steam, pipeline, LNG or LPG specifications. Furthermore, these substances pose a substantial threat to valuable catalysts used in selective hydrogenation units (like those containing precious metals).

Axens provides a complete portfolio of non-regenerative adsorbents designed to remove sulfur species from hydrocarbon streams, backed by strong, experienced technical services teams in each locality who provide start-up assistance, loading/unloading support, performance analysis/tracking as well as regeneration recommendations.

AxTrap® 611

The AxTrap(r) 611 series are highly efficient guard bed adsorbents designed to remove hydrogen chloride (HCl) from liquid and gas streams, using proprietary mixtures of iron oxides or mixed metal oxides bound onto an inert carrier material. They are non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-pyrophoric and environmentally safe in both fresh and spent state conditions.

Sulfur compounds such as H2S, mercaptans or COS must be eliminated from hydrocarbon streams in order to meet fuel gas, syngas pipeline and LPG specifications. Axens provides an array of non-regenerative or regenerative adsorbents based on metal oxides or mixed oxides that can be tailored specifically to each stream and application.

AxTrap® 610

H2S, COS, mercaptans and sulfides are contaminants commonly present in gas streams that must be eliminated to meet fuel gas, syngas, pipeline, LNG cracked gases and olefin specifications. AxTrap(r) 4000 Series Scavengers offer simple yet dry granular sulfur removal media for these applications.

These non-regenerative scavengers utilize patented mixtures of iron oxides and/or mixed metal oxides bonded to an inert, natural carrier to form robust, granular adsorbents which are non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-pyrophoric and environmentally safe when fresh or spent – even under conditions where impurities concentrations exceed what can be handled by other means. Furthermore, depending on impurity concentration levels and application needs they can even be regenerated in situ or used as guard beds depending on impurity concentration levels or application needs.

AxTrap® 615

AxTrap(r) 4000 Series products are specifically designed to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide sulfides (CO2S) and mercaptans from gas streams, making them suitable for wastewater, landfill and digester gas applications.

This material is comprised of a patented mixture of iron oxides and mixed metal oxides on an inert, natural carrier. It is non-hazardous, non-pyrophoric and environmentally safe in both fresh and spent condition, while providing easy handling and excellent performance at lower temperature conditions. Granules make handling simple while offering exceptional performance at lower temperature settings – ideal for naphtha treatment units upstream of catalytic reformers or isomerization selective hydrogenation units.

AxTrap® 620

H2S, COS, mercaptans and sulfides are common hydrocarbon contaminants that must be removed to meet pipeline specifications for pipeline, LPG or LNG flows, as well as downstream catalyst specifications containing precious metals (e.g. isomerization selective hydrogenation units). Axens has over 25 years of expertise and research and development into non-regenerative adsorbents to remove sulfur species that are non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-pyrophoric in both fresh and spent states – Axens provides non-regenerative adsorbents made of iron oxides with an inert natural carrier which are non-toxic in both fresh state as well as spent state.

AxTrap® 621

Axens offers an extensive portfolio of non-regenerative scavengers designed to remove Sulfur species from gas and liquid streams, using iron oxides or mixed metal oxides dispersed in an inert carrier. The end product is an extremely robust, granular material which can safely be handled both during fresh processing as well as post treatment – ideal for fuel gas, pipeline, LNG, cracked gases or olefin applications.

AxTrap® 622

AxTrap(r) 622 is a non-regenerative adsorbent designed for the removal of sulfur-containing gas streams such as H2S, COS, mercaptans or sulfides in acidic environments. The design incorporates an innovative mixture of iron oxides or mixed metal oxides on an inert carrier material for maximum effectiveness.

Sulfur species can be highly corrosive and must be eliminated from fuel gas, syngas, NGL, LNG and LPG specifications as well as cracking, isomerization and biogas applications. Axens offers an extensive portfolio of non-regenerative solutions tailored specifically for each stream or application.

AxTrap® 623

Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Carbonyl Sulfide (COS), Mercaptans, Sulfides and Disulfides are among the many contaminants found in natural gas, syngas, NGLs, cracked gases, biogas streams or olefin streams that must be removed to meet fuel gas, pipeline or LNG specifications. They are corrosive and poison precious metal catalysts in isomerization selective hydrogenation units; Axens provides non-regenerative iron oxide- or mixed metal oxide-based granular media scavengers to efficiently remove these sulfur species; Axens AxTrap 4000 series are safe in fresh or spent conditions

AxTrap® 624

Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Carbonyl Sulfide (COS), Mercaptans and Sulfides are common sulfur contaminants that must be eliminated from gas streams to meet pipeline, fuel gas, NGL, LNG and LPG specifications. Furthermore, these sulfur species are extremely corrosive to precious metal catalysts used in isomerization selective hydrogenation units – thus necessitating removal. AxTrap(r) 4000 Series Dry Granular Media Scavengers offer non-regenerative products designed for this task with mixtures of iron oxides/mixed metal oxides on an inert carrier that are non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-pyrophoric in both fresh and spent form.

AxTrap® 625

H2S, light mercaptans and other sulfur species must be eliminated to meet pipeline, fuel gas or air quality specifications. Therefore, H2S removal units have been designed specifically to remove harmful corrosive contaminants from air, landfill biogas and industrial process gas sources.

Axens offers an array of non-regenerative adsorbents designed to remove sulfur compounds from liquids or gases depending on impurity concentration and application requirements. These products utilize an innovative formulation utilizing iron oxides or mixed metal oxides on an inert, natural carrier; their granular product is non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-pyrophoric in both fresh and spent states.
